Wang Yongzhi Career: Wang Yongzhi was a famous rocket scientist and he played a leading role in China’s manned (载人的) spaceflight program. Hometown: Changtu County, Liaoning Province. Experiences: In 1952, he went to Tsinghua University. In 1955, he was sent to study in the Moscow Aviation Institute (莫斯科航空学院). During his work, he designed a number of rockets and missiles (导弹). In 1992, he was named as the first chief (主要的) planner of the nation’s manned spaceflight program. In 2003, under Wang Yongzhi’s leadership, China’s first manned spaceflight succeeded. Award: Wang Yongzhi was awarded the Medal of the Republic (共和国勋章) about three months after he passed away.
Wang Yongzhi was a famous rocket scientist. He played 94 in China’s manned spaceflight program. Wang Yongzhi’s 95 is Changtu County, Liaoning Province. In 1952, he went to Tsinghua University. He was sent to study in the Moscow Aviation Institute in 1955. Two years later, Wang began to learn how to design carrier rockets and ballistic missiles (运载火箭和弹道导弹).
He started working on rocket design after he returned to China. During his work, he designed 96 rockets and missiles. In 1992, he was named as the first chief planner of the nation’s manned spaceflight program. He stuck to this task that brought him a great deal of pressure. He thought it was his duty to make the nation’s dream of flying into space come true. Under his leadership, China 97 launched its first manned spacecraft in 2003. In 2005, he saw the success of China’s second manned spaceflight.
Wang Yongzhi 98 on June 11, 2024. And he was awarded the Medal of the Republic on September 13, 2024.
